It was February and I felt lost and alone when a Leonard Cohen song entered my brain like a gift. It was The Sisters of Mercy. It entered and wouldn't leave. It was exactly what I needed and justified for me exactly why art is so important. I learned it and played and sang it to myself over and over in my freezing temporary accoms in France. This was why I chose solitude. This song came from that. The production is meant to feel like a river and also a little like the wind. It is like a warm hug from cold elements.
